Services Not Sweeps Coalition • Brand Identity

Services Not Sweeps Coalition · Brand Identity

An ongoing project for Services Not Sweeps Coalition, “ … a Seattle-based coalition of advocates, service providers, community members, and folks with lived experience fighting to ban encampment sweeps during the winter and extreme weather events.”

This coalition strives to shift policy by working with local government, and wanted some branding help in order to present themselves in a more polished manner. Building off their existing logo and colors, I set out to create a professional yet relatable visual identity to match the proficiency of its members.

I chose GT Super as the brand’s primary typeface for its blend of professional polish and subtle emotionality.

Another main objective of this project was to design a branded Instagram template, and to create posts addressing the urgent need for a severe weather sweeps ban.

The two posts published thus far using the new branding have become first and third highest performing posts to date.

They also helped amass 3,100+ Action Network letters sent by constituents to city council, demonstrating massive support on this issue throughout Seattle, and hopefully laying the groundwork for eventual policy change.

An inverse of brand colors on key slides interjects to break up text-heavy carousels that can get repetitive.

A ticker tape banner subtly sets a CTA slide apart from the others. The text can be customizable to each action eg. “ACTION ITEM”, “DONATE”, “CALL YOUR REPS”, etc.
